Vedanta Group to set up ductile iron spun pipe unit in Goa

Vedanta Group is planning to set up a ductile iron spun pipes unit as product diversification of existing hot metal/ pig iron into ductile iron pipes, based on continuous sequential process involving several sub-processes. The new plant will come up at Navelim village, Bicholim taluka in North Goa. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 5500 million. The project will have a capacity to produce 2×150 ktpa/ 300 ktpa of DI pipes by converting 0.3 million tpa hot liquid metal out of 0.45 million tpa hot liquid metal from blast furnace to ductile iron spun pipes having a size range of DN 80 to DN 1,200.
